This quiz uses the Experiences in Close Relationships–Revised (ECR-R) — the measure researchers actually use to study adult attachment. It places you on the two dimensions the science is built on: anxiety (how much you worry about a partner's love and availability) and avoidance (how uncomfortable you are with closeness and depending on someone). Together they point to one of four styles.

This self-assessment reproduces a published research instrument for personal insight. It is not a clinical diagnosis and is not a substitute for a mental-health professional. Thresholds are a simple heuristic based on the scale midpoint; real scores are continuous, and being near the middle is common and normal.
